Miller Global has been recognized by Real Estate Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top Real Estate Investment Company 2025,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Best Real Estate Investment Services,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Real Estate Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Jimmy Miller, President and CEO.
Jimmy Miller, President and CEONearly half a century in real estate creates more than a résumé of properties and deals; it creates a perspective shaped by experience. For Jimmy Miller, president and CEO of Miller Global, those lessons began in 1978, just after graduating from Yale and returning from a tour of Europe with his college singing group. He immediately entered the world of high-stakes real estate by joining his father’s newly formed company with Denver oilman Marvin Davis. From the outset, he was immersed in leasing office space, managing properties, and overseeing tenant construction—formative years spent alongside seasoned developers.
As the firm expanded, its projects became iconic. Highlights included luxury hotels at Aspen Mountain, the Silver Queen Gondola, Pebble Beach’s Spanish Bay resort and golf course, and the striking Fox Plaza in Los Angeles—immortalized by moviegoers as Nakatomi Tower in Die Hard. Each undertaking demanded technical expertise, patience, creativity, and the ability to balance the interests of investors, partners, and communities. Over time, Miller realized that the real currency of success was not measured in square footage built or deals closed, but in the trust earned along the way.
From these principles, Miller Global grew into a fully integrated, value-add real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition, development, redevelopment, and disposition of high-quality, well-located office and hotel properties across the U.S. With investors ranging from pension funds and insurance companies to endowments, foundations, and family offices, the firm has earned a reputation for disciplined strategy, institutional-quality assets, and lasting value. A defining differentiator is its ability to align interests with partners through creative and flexible structures. By treating investors’ capital as its own and prioritizing fairness and integrity, the firm has consistently built trust and cultivated long-term relationships that fuel its competitive edge.
“We leverage our real estate experience, expertise, and relationships to source and selectively acquire and develop investments that complement our institutional-quality portfolio,” says Miller.
Miller Global now focuses on select residential and hospitality projects in prime markets. Its approach emphasizes rigorous due diligence, growth trend analysis, evaluation of local economies, competitive landscapes, and construction costs to build accurate financial projections. Multiple scenarios are modeled and capital stacks structured before closing. After acquisition, attention shifts to maximizing income through active management, with disposition strategies tailored to market conditions and stabilization. The result is resilient investments that perform across cycles, attracting investors in downturns and sustaining demand in upturns.
One standout achievement was the JW Marriott Hotel and Resort in San Antonio’s Hill Country. Launched in 2005 with Marriott and the PGA Tour, the project featured a 1,002-room hotel, seven dining outlets, a 25,000-square-foot spa, two TPC golf courses, a 50,000-square-foot clubhouse, and 150,000 square feet of meeting space. To diversify revenue, the team introduced Marriott’s first six-acre water park, later expanded by four acres due to great demand. Groundbreaking began in 2007, and the resort opened in 2010. Over eight years, cash flows grew sevenfold, making it one of Miller Global’s most successful ventures.
The Miller Global story is one of collaboration, resilience, and value creation. From Aspen to San Antonio, the firm demonstrates that great real estate is built on vision, discipline, and trust. As cycles evolve, its core values of rigor, creativity, and integrity continue to guide growth and deliver lasting value for investors and stakeholders.
