Whissel Beer Group has been recognized by Real Estate Business Review Magazine as “Top Real Estate Agents - 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Real Estate Agents,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Real Estate Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Dan Beer, President, Whissel Beer Group.
Dan Beer, President, Whissel Beer GroupWhat operational challenges was Whissel Beer Group designed to eliminate for agents?
When Kyle Whissel and Dan Beer decided to merge their respective companies, Whissel Realty Group and the Beer Home Team, the goal was unanimous. A platform that would let real estate agents spend all of their time doing what drew them to the profession in the first place, selling.
That shared mission, built over eight years of partnership in another venture called Fast Forward Movement, gave the two founders a clear mandate when they launched Whissel Beer Group. The platform would eliminate as much operational friction as possible from the agent experience through technology and dedicated support teams. Agents access a portal, trigger a workflow, and the work associated with a transaction is handled. What remains for the agent is the sale itself.
“We set out to build a push-button platform that makes it easier, faster, and virtually frictionless for agents to accomplish sales, eliminating the administrative burdens that drain their time,” says Dan Beer, President of Whissel Beer Group
How does transaction scale influence market forecasting and client advisory strategies internally?
The founding premise of Whissel Beer Group extends directly into how the company serves its clients. Transaction volume is not just a performance metric; it enables the firm to accurately anticipate market shifts and serves as the foundation for how the team advises buyers and sellers. The impact of this approach is evident. While the typical San Diego County agent closes fewer than two homes a year, Whissel Beer Group sold more than 1,000 homes last year - this is a feat never accomplished in San Diego.
Earlier this year, while broader market commentary pointed to a sluggish environment, the Whissel Beer Group team was already registering a different signal internally. Listings were receiving more showings, multiple-offer situations were returning on properties that had previously been sitting, and homes were moving under contract faster. The firm’s clients were being repositioned and advised accordingly, often months before comparable shifts would register in public market reports.
On the seller side, Whissel Beer Group’s differentiation centers on a federally trademarked marketing process, “7-day Listing Launch” designed to shift the competitive dynamic of a transaction. Rather than framing a sale as a negotiation between a seller and a buyer, the team creates conditions in which multiple buyers compete. The result? Sellers genuinely maximize what the market will bear, not because agents promise it, but because the strategy is structured to produce it.
The company’s track record includes a well-known example in San Diego. Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson had a property on the market for more than 2 years with a previous representative. After engaging Whissel Beer Group, the home sold in 16 days for USD 200,000 above his initial target price.
To what extent does off-market inventory expand opportunities for buyer clients across regions?
For buyers, the advantage is different. Their trademarked “VIP Buyer Program” develops off-market inventory, properties not yet publicly listed, through network relationships with other agents, direct outreach to owners whose listings previously expired, and systematic follow-up with landlords approaching the end of a lease cycle. The goal is to give buyer clients access to inventory that never appears on a public portal.
Moving forward, Whissel Beer Group is focused on growing both its client base and agent community. Beyond recruiting individual producers, it is targeting experienced team leaders who have built successful operations only to find themselves buried in HR, systems management, and administrative overhead. For those professionals, Beer sees a clear opportunity: offload the back-end to the platform, and get back to doing what made the business profitable in the first place.
The company’s long-term vision is the national expansion of the platform model, delivering a consistent and high-performance infrastructure to real estate professionals regardless of where they operate. The founding conviction remains unchanged. The closer an agent can get to spending all of their time on sales, the better the outcome for everyone.
